ELECTRONICA EM-003 is a high-class portable keyboard polyphonic EMI.

The range of application - from home music performance to symphonic orchestra (both in solo and accompanying mode). The tune of the instrument may be shifted by +/- tone from nominal. Timbre synthesis - harmonic, with 9 registers of upper manual and 6 registers of lower manual. Timbre may be also changed using orchestra register switches (bass, fagotto, clarinet, pipe etc.). The timbres of bell, clavesin, celesta etc. are available. Electronica EM-003 provides the opportunity to swiftly activate desired effects (polyphonic percussion; Lesley effect; "wah-wah"; phaser; glissando; switch from organ sound to accented attack change and decay of variable duration); it has noise accompaniment function, drum and noise effects, repetition, and vibrato (frequency and register).

The available rhythm machine makes it possible to represent 18 different rhythm patterns, including auto bass and auto accompaniment. Every pattern is performed with a specific set of "drums". Some effects may be controlled, besides automatic control, by knee lever. Pedals are available for controlling the volume, switching on and off autorhythmes, and tone damping. Preliminary selection of desired timbres is provided by programmator; the switch from one timbre to another is made with sensor switch.
